ABOUT
M.SPACO is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated exhibition showcasing the winners of our 3D Printing Design Challenge! This event is a celebration of innovation, sustainability, and the future of furniture design. Join M.SPACO in unveiling the groundbreaking creations that have redefined the possibilities of 3D printing and sustainable design.
With an intent to support Singapore’s national climate target to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 as well as M.SPACO sustainable interior design direction, the 3D Furniture Design Challenge helps promote sustainable and with the ideas of zero waste and a circular economy through 3D printing technology from eco filaments – biodegradable, compostable or recycled.
Imagine a future where additive manufacturing can reduce waste, optimize material usage, and usher in a new era of eco-conscious design within living spaces. The competition serves as a platform for designers to demonstrate how 3D printing can bring about breakthroughs in sustainability, efficiency, and customisability. From sculptural statement pieces to ergonomic furnishings, from artistic light fixtures to bespoke fittings, every element of interior is a potential canvas for participants to innovate on. By embracing the transformative power of additive manufacturing, design can revolutionize the way living spaces of tomorrow are envisioned, crafted, and delivered.
This exhibition is not just a display of furniture; it’s a glimpse into the future of design and manufacturing. It’s an opportunity to witness how innovation and sustainability can come together to create functional art that respects our planet.
All winning works will be 3D printed by NAMIC and exhibited at M.SPACO, and the prize giving ceremony will take place on 26 Sep 2024, 10.00am.
This event is supported by SIMTech of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research and Sixides.
