Hello Empathy
ABOUT
Hello Empathy is a session suitable for anyone interested in inclusive design or designing for special needs communities. Participants will be playing Hello Empathy – an interactive conversation card game developed through research with the autism community supported by Good Design Research (DesignSingapore Council).
The session starts off with an introduction of how Hello Empathy was conceived, followed by playing the card game which allows players to learn more about autism through conversations, putting themselves in the shoes of persons with autism.
There is much to learn from persons with disabilities, for us to design more inclusively. Neurodivergent people such as persons with autism, are often overlooked due to their invisible disabilities. As such, hello empathy invites participants to explore understanding and awareness of the autism community through deepened empathy and discuss how mental, emotional and physical awareness can develop more meaningful design.
