Ethical Design: Principles in Practice
ABOUT
Design has a profound impact on humanity – it frames and influences behaviours, relationships, spaces, cultural and social norms. It has dramatically improved lives – improving productivity, increasing access to knowledge, reducing injuries… the list goes on. But it has a darker side. Design can be manipulative, dangerous and downright destructive.
Each day, designers and the design industry at large tread a delicate line, balancing the value tensions between fulfilling needs of the business and that of the users who will ultimately use the product. But there is a need to look beyond the direct stakeholders, to consider the ethical implications of the product, service, environment or organisation we create in context of the broader ecosystem we operate in.
Join PSYKHE at a discourse on the importance of Ethical Design and the key principles that could guide intentional, responsible design that prioritises the well-being of people, the planet and the society in which it operates. Ethical Design: Principles in Practice will take a pragmatic approach to design responsibly and present a framework for organisations as they aspire to innovate, grow and succeed sustainably.
