ABOUT

This exhibition presents enquiries into how technology-enabled design can shape cultural experiences. Through a series of outcomes, it showcases how designers experiment, craft and formulate ideas about how to perceive, view and imagine future communication and interaction through their practice.

The outcomes on display consider different cultural perspectives, emphasising the impact of cross-cultural values in the design process. In a workshop exchange between LASALLE College of the Arts and Korea National University of Arts, participants probed how integrating machine learning techniques like voice recognition and machine learning into design can augment and transform human experience beyond cultural boundaries. They brought together the disciplines of design and music to build synergies and transcend one’s creative practice, as well as explored how cultural dynamics can emerge from and in human-machine interactions.

The nature of the enquiries culminating in this exhibition is to serve as a space for thought, exploration, and experimentation, sparking curiosity and encouraging dialogue on how design and technology can foster new cultural engagements, expressions, and experiences.
