Data and Design for a Sustainable Future is a closed-door roundtable consisting of two sessions on 22 and 23 September 2023, 5-7pm, at National Design Centre, Deloitte’s Center for the Edge, Level 3.

Join thought leaders from various fields including Duleesha Kulasooriya, Yeo Ker Siang, Ina Conradi Chavez, Munirah Mansoor and Chan Wan Kyn in generating fresh perspectives on designing for sustainability, using SERIAL CO_’s latest design research project, IN HOT WATERS as a starting point. The discussion will cover a range of topics including the relationship between form and function of data visualisation, data aesthetics and fetishisation, techno-optimism and designing with data for a sustainable future.

This event is organised by SERIAL CO_ and supported by Deloitte’s Center for the Edge.

ABOUT IN HOT WATERS

IN HOT WATERS (2022-ongoing) is a decentralized data visualisation and simulation project illustrating the impact of human activities on the environment. The project is an ongoing collection of works using live climate data to visualise the effect of rising global average temperature. Using a still life of an everyday scene, the objects in frame are constantly changing, responding to the change in global average temperature.
