Through the programme, explore strategies and best practices to create inclusive environments, products, and services that cater to unique needs, fostering equity and inclusivity. Engaging activities and discussions will introduce participants to key principles, encouraging hands-on application of local nuances in their design process through workshops. Topics covered include user-centered research, accessibility, and embracing cultural diversity.

By equipping designers with these insights, the aim is to create a more inclusive and equitable society, ensuring that no one is left behind in our diverse and vibrant community.

PROGRAMME

In this engaging session, participants will delve into the world of inclusive design principles. The event will kick off with a series of thought-provoking activities and discussions, spotlighting real-life case studies relevant to Singapore’s diverse population.

Participants will then get hands-on in an interactive workshop to apply their newly acquired inclusive design principles. They will learn to create products and services that are not only inclusive and culturally relevant, but also align with the unique needs and preferences of Singaporeans.

By the session’s conclusion, participants will walk away with a deeper understanding of inclusive design and its potential to foster a more inclusive society. 9.45am – 10.45am: Inclusivity Talk (1 hour)

  • Explore the art of inclusive design that harmoniously accommodates people with varying physical abilities, diverse health and wellness needs, and different ethnic groups in Singapore.
  • Delve into strategies and best practices to create environments, products, and services that cater to the unique needs and preferences of all individuals, fostering a truly inclusive and equitable society.
