ABOUT
In a world of rapid change and constant creation, Singapore Science Park’s district activation for Singapore Design Week 2025 explores the power of REINVENTION — not as a one-time breakthrough, but as a continuous, adaptive process.
Through a diverse line-up of programmes, ranging from showcases, industry activations, design interventions to talks, activities, and more, REINVENTION offers a glimpse into how science, technology and design are not separate domains, but deeply interconnected forces shaping the future of cities, communities, and industries.
Singapore Science Park invites visitors to reflect on what it means to reinvent in our symbiotic world, when seemingly separate parts — nature and machine, technology and community, old and new — converge to create something stronger, more resilient, more meaningful. In this shared journey of REINVENTION, everyone becomes a designer of the future.

Key Activations
Open Source Conference
OPEN SOURCE is the flagship design dialogue series of Singapore Science Park Design District for SDW 2025, celebrating the spirit of open-sourcing – the belief that knowledge, ideas, and design processes should be shared, reworked, and scaled for the common good.
Guided by the theme of REINVENTION, OPEN SOURCE brings together designers, visionaries, scientists, technologists, and the public to explore how we can co-create smarter, healthier, and more human futures.
Programmes will take place across the week with lunchtime sessions on weekdays and full day activities over the weekends. Visit the REINVENTION website for the full line-up and schedule.
Beyond Form: Crafting Sustainable, Experiential Cities
Join us to explore how sustainable, human-centric design can shape the future of urban living, and redefine our future cities. This programme celebrates the architectural and design excellence of CapitaLand’s iconic projects – including CapitaSpring, Jewel Changi Airport, and GENEO – while showcasing its integrated approach to innovation, sustainability, and placemaking across Singapore and beyond. Hear from leading voices in architecture and design: Brian Yang (Bjarke Ingels Group), Charu Kokate (Safdie Architects), Christopher Lee (Serie Architects), and Mario Cucinella (Mario Cucinella Architects). They will share their creative journeys and visions for what the built environment could become.

Man + Machine: A Robotics Showcase
Beyond sleek surfaces and sci-fi futures, these machines are something more – quiet companions built to move, support, and grow with us.
This showcase brings together robots and inventions designed not just for industry but for life: helping us navigate cities, learn through experimentation, and live with greater comfort and care.
Whether built for precision, experimentation, or purpose, each machine carries its own story, character, and design approach, inviting us to see them as companions, co-workers, and creative collaborators. As AI and automation become part of daily life, we invite you to pause, look closer, and rethink the relationship between man and machine, and how we may build, connect, and reimagine together.
The BYOX Fair
This is a science fair of its own kind.
Inspired by Bring Your Own Beamer (BYOB) popularised by Anne De Vries and Rafael Rozendaal, the BYOX Fair envisions a dynamic exhibition shaped by interaction between visitors and the work. Designers and technologists are invited to submit plug-and-play, interactive installations using microcontrollers, sensors, artificial intelligence, robotics, mixed reality and digital interfaces.
Curated by designer-educator Yeo Ker Siang, Rachel Poonsiriwong, and Tusitala, the programme brings together designers and technologists experimenting with microcontrollers, sensors, AI, robotics, and more, alongside tactile, analog processes that go beyond tech.
Keep an eye out for the fair’s sustainable booths, specially designed by The Merry Go Round, which features sustainable materials from LOQA and Robries.
GREEN-HOUSE HangOut
GREEN-HOUSE HangOut is the pocket-sized sibling of our flagship festival, GREEN-HOUSE. It’s a travelling, collaborative edition that pops up throughout the year — from malls to museums, design festivals to community spaces.
Each HangOut brings a curated slice of the GREEN-HOUSE experience to new corners of the city — spotlighting local changemakers, showcasing sustainable innovations, and inspiring everyday climate action through play, design, and discovery.
Flavours of Tomorrow
There’s plenty of food for thought at the latest edition of Flavours of Tomorrow, where taste and innovation take centre stage. We invite you to explore how science, technology and design are shaping the future of what – and how – we eat.
Flavours of Tomorrow: An Interactive Culinary Experience takes you on a thought-provoking journey about our food systems and the future of food through a curated menu, commentary by futurist Luke Tay, and a live culinary demonstration. Discover the stories behind each bite, and how they’ve been transformed by cultural and environmental shifts, and innovation.
Take a deep dive into bold ideas and breakthroughs in food tech innovation at Flavours of Tomorrow: A Showcase, where pop-up booths serve up cutting edge solutions, from upcycled food waste to precision agriculture. Have a taste of what’s next, whether you’re a makan enthusiast or simply hungry for new ideas.
This programme is part of the Singapore Food Festival 2025.
