Rediscover everyday experiences through the lens of design on Friday, 27 September, at the Bras Basah.Bugis (BBB) Design District for Friday Late events during Singapore Design Week. As you explore the district’s activities, be sure to stop by the National Design Centre for food and drinks!

An exciting programme line-up awaits, inviting you to EAT, HEAL, SLEEP, READ, SHOP, COMMUTE, MAKE, and DESIGN. Explore the world of sleep through VR, entice your palate with food design performances, contemplate imperfection at a silent book auction, and engage with AI in interactive workshops to envision the future of design. With intriguing finds extending all the way to Bugis Street, check out the line-up of activities below. See you there!

1. [MAKE] Make a Metal Rose with Baremetal Co.
NAFA Fashion Gallery, NAFA Campus 2

Experience traditional metalworking and craft a rose with Matthias Yong from Baremetal Co.
This event is proudly supported by Baremetal Co.

2. [DESIGN] Learn Creative Methods with Gen AI and Envision Your Future Autonomous Car
National Design Centre, Training Rooms 1 & 2

Learn a fun and fast AI workflow for imaginative results as you design your own autonomous car using Hypersketch and Chat-GPT.

3. [HEAL] Re:Repair

A casual discussion with the Repair+ designers about approaching brokenness with empathetic design.

4. [READ] What’s Wrong with Well Worn?
National Library Building, Level 10 (Link Bridge)

A silent auction featuring a selection of beautifully worn books that are precious not because they rely on the book title or any speculative market value.

5. [EAT] Designers’ Live Tour: Interactive Experiences and Tastings
National Design Centre, Level 1, Gallery 1
6.30pm – 10.30pm

Experience an immersive ‘Living Room’ style tour that combines interactive experiences in new material production with delightful food tastings.

6.30pm – 7.30pm
Participative Live Show: Faba Forma by Niki Dimova
Guests are invited to play with Faba-Forma, a biodegradable material made from bean waste, using manual extruding guns to craft unique designs with various colours and nozzle shapes.

8.00pm – 9.00pm
Live Show: Bubbling Bricks by Atelier Fang
Atelier Fang will present the process of making bio-based bobbling bricks – an experimental crafting method using edible materials.

9.30pm – 10.30pm
Tempeh Tasting with Domingo Club
Taste the tempeh produced from a 2-day fermentation process, the result of the community performance involving their Domingo Necklace.

6. [SHOP] Friday Shopping!

There will be live narration of the exhibitions by a roadshow emcee in Bugis+ and selected items can be redeemed in Bugis Street*.

7. [COMMUTE] Ethnography of Commuter Behaviours: An Insight into Creating the Tribe

Explore the vibrant and diverse commuter tribes of Singapore in this interactive and engaging exhibition.
