FLIGHT AND FIGHT: BIOMIMICRY FOR TWEENS
About Flight and Fight: Biomimicry for Tweens
How do animals in nature glide or fly? Learn about nature’s geometry, forms and adaptations that enable flight. Then, create a nature-inspired device of your own! Imagine a levelled-up paper plane from childhood hat should be able to carry a small weigh (or payload). Test how your device fares against other participants in an ultimate fight challenge.
Materials will be provided.
Recommended for ages 10 – 16.
Flight and Fight: Biomimicry for Tweens is a Community Event of SDW 2022
This session is led by Anuj Jain and Grace Lim from bioSEA – an ecological and biomimicry design firm that works to transform the green and blue spaces in the built environment into beautiful, biodiverse and ecologically functional habitats. They also develop cutting edge biomimicry solutions to naturally cool our cities and thus, drive new levels of sustainability for the built environment. They are guided by our motto to shape built environments to function like rainforests.
