About Design with Care in the River of Life

This exhibition showcases how Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) embraces design along the different segments of National Healthcare Group’s River of Life (ROL). The NHG’s ROL framework is designed to meet evolving healthcare needs in the future. It explains the efforts in population health, responding to a rapidly ageing population, the rise in chronic diseases, and an increasing prevalence of frailty and mental health issues. To foster a culture of healthier living among individuals, TTSH partners with the Central Health partners and residents across the different stages of the health spectrum. With design thinking and innovation, TTSH provides better person-centred, evidence-based care that is sustainable and cost-effective.

Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) has embarked on a journey to deliver people-centred healthcare through design, lean and organisational development concepts and principles. By adopting a tool-agnostic approach in supporting large system-level changes and ground-up initiatives, TTSH strives to improve care delivery with its interdisciplinary care teams. The Living Lab, a maker space at the Centre of Healthcare Innovation (CHI) in TTSH, is dedicated to encouraging staff to explore and materialise their innovation ideas.
