Challenge X | The Patient-led National Design Challenge 2025

ABOUT

Organised by DesignSingapore Council’s School of X, in partnership with the Centre for Healthcare Innovation and the Alliance of Patients’ Organizations Singapore, Challenge X: the Patient-Led National Design Challenge, uses a design-led approach to tackle the challenges people living with long-term health conditions face.

Challenge X brings together patients, care providers, and designers to co-create solutions that allow them to live their lives fully, in the way they wish to, beyond the constraints and definition of a “patient”. It puts those at the heart of the problem to take the lead in solving it, resulting in solutions that people want to use, find easy to use, and are therefore more likely to get adopted.

The DesignSingapore Council’s (Dsg’s) vision is for Singapore to be an innovation-driven economy and a loveable city by design. As the national agency that promotes design, our mission is to develop the design sector, help Singapore use design for innovation and growth, and make life better in this UNESCO Creative City of Design. Dsg is a subsidiary of the Singapore Economic Development Board.

CO-ORGANISER

Centre for Healthcare Innovation (CHI) & Alliance of Patients’ Organization Singapore (APOS)

CHI, part of NHG Health, drives systems transformation to add years of healthy life to the communities they serve. This transformation is powered by innovation, with care redesign, technology adoption, and job redesign for the future healthcare workforce.

APOS was formed to meet the increasing demand for patient-centered healthcare and patient engagement, providing a collaborative environment, and advocating for policies that prioritise patients’ needs and preferences.
