Mapping and Designing the Ecosystem for Creativity and Responsibility
ABOUT
This is a two-part event exploring the evolving role of design in shaping a better world. Design has transitioned from products to addressing complex societal and environmental challenges, requiring new mindsets and tools. These sessions equip design professionals with the conceptual understanding, vocabulary, and tools needed for their practice.
This is part two of the collaboration, where participants will explore and design a future-fit design industry. Unlike other professions, the design industry lacks structured education and qualifications.
The workshop addresses the industry’s changing landscape due to technology and designers’ growing influence. Participants will discuss industry evolution, potential measures and guidelines, educational improvements, governance, and ethical considerations.
Participants will work in groups to envision a conscious, positive, and supported industry, acknowledging designers’ impact on daily lives and global landscapes. This interactive session builds on the previous open dialogue in part one, and attendees are encouraged to attend both for a comprehensive exploration.
